Twoogle provides an easy way to search Twitter and Google simultaneously, from the same site, displaying its results side by side.
Twoogle aims to make easier for people to get the best of two worlds: The realtimeness of Twitter and the relevancy of Google search results; it also provides a "Tweet these results" functionality, making it easy to share on Twitter with just one click.

Whether you think Twitter is the greatest thing since egg slicers or you think it's just another dumb way to waste time on the internet, there's one thing that makes Twitter extraordinarily helpful: real-time search. While Google does a pretty good job of letting you find maps of South Dakota, the best place to buy a digital camera, or other the latest news from Washington, Twitter search can help you figure out what people are talking about right now. For instance, if you wanted to figure out whether you were the only person experiencing a Google outage yesterday, all you had to do was look at Twitter. Or a few weeks ago you could find out exactly what people thought about the new Star Trek movie seconds after the surprise premiere in Austin.Twoogle is a tool that provides the best of both worlds, but letting you search both Google and Twitter at the same time. Just enter a search term, and Twoogle will provide results in a split-screen format, with Twitter search listings on the left and Google on the right. The only problem I have with Twoogle is that Google doesn't look great when you squash the window, since you wind up providing roughly equal space to search results and sponsored links. But if you have a higher resolution monitor this shouldn't be a problem. FYI, the screenshot above was made using Google Chrome on a 1280 x 800 pixel display.
Twoogle? Gootter? What if Twitter and Google teamed up?
By Senior Staff Writer – Steve Saylor
Of course the rumors are flying again that Twitter was going to be acquired by Google. The latest batch came from April Fools Day, which a lot of people are starting to take a bit more seriously.
Obviously, rumors are just that, rumors. However, let’s think about it this way, what if Twitter were acquired by Google? What would happen to our favorite little tweety bird of a social network?
I’m not one for predictions, but I will throw my hat in the ring, or check my box under the “I think it’s a good idea” column. Why? Because it’s not about Twitter getting eaten up by the Big Daddy Google Machine, it’s about we can finally stop worrying how Twitter will get money. Every time we hear reports of Twitter having to ask for more funding, some can get worried that this network will go under.
All this has happened before, and it will all happen again. Remember a little startup called YouTube? Everyone was worrying then whenever YouTube was asking for more money, but as soon as Google acquired them, YouTube is going stronger than ever, and are able to not only keep their servers running, but they can now host HD content, pay some of it’s highest viewed users, and still be the awesome little video sharing site that could; all with Google’s help.
Of course we don’t know how well internally that partnership is going, but on the outside looking in, everything seems okay.
So please everyone stop worrying about whether or not Twitter will be bought by Google. If it happens, then that’s a sigh of relief. If not, Twitter will tweet along and fly freely just as fine. Trust me, this is a site that won’t go away anytime soon.
Not if Ashton Kutcher has anything to say about it.
Did I just make an Ashton Kutcher joke? …… Yeah I did!
*high five*
What are you thoughts? What would you like to see happen with Twitter? Is being bought by Google a good thing? Leave comments below, I would love to see how this conversation develops.
